Beijing 北京

Beijing has a strong vertical relief: raised ribs broken into irregular blocks, under a velvety, chenille-like pile that catches the light along each ridge. The effect is textured but soft. The palette moves from white and warm beige through ochre, bronze and chestnut to olive, navy and black. Light shades show the relief in fine shadow; dark shades look deep and rich. In the studio shoot the fabric hangs in long folds and drapes over the arm of a sofa. Each sample carries a dé label with the collection name and colour number.
